My DS (14 months) started giving open mouth kisses unprompted and will try to sit in my lap without me reaching for him. I was laying on the floor and he tried to sit on my head because he couldn't figure out where to sit and wanted to be close to me. It hurts my heart how sweet he is and am still shocked every day by how much I love him. Watching him grow and being his mama is by far the greatest gift I've ever been given.

  • I went shopping last night and DH and DS came with me. I came out of the dressing room in an outfit and was talking to DH and trying to pick out shoes when DS started calling my name repeatedly "mama, mama! Mama!" He's 4 and knows not to interrupt so I got a little irritated and snapped back and said what?!

He just looks so sweetly at me an says you look really pretty mommy.

Dang if he didn't make me feel an inch tall. I apologized for snapping, gave him a hug and thanked him. He's gonna make some woman happy one day!
  • PJ gave me a huge snuggle and open-mouthed kiss when I dropped her off at daycare this morning.  Normally she's so excited to just go play that she barely gives me a second glance.  I love that little Tug  :)

  • DS starts soccer practice today so last night we went and got him cleats, shin guards, socks and a ball. When I told him I used to play "soccer ball" too he got so excited and kept telling DH that he was "going to be a soccer ball player just like mommy". I love that kid so damn much.

Aw I seriously love this. Yep I had no idea parenting could be so neat sometimes. Watching my DS mimic us and get so excited to see us is awesome.

Last night he woke up at 2:00 a.m. and I cuddled with him. When he saw it was me he just smiled and giggled. Love that little guy.

  • DH was running about 20 minutes late this morning. He decided to spend an extra 10 minutes here, do the dishes, and just take 30 minutes of PTO. I really love that guy.
Um, can he call my DH and request he do the same?   :D

Thanks! I just get overwhelmed sometimes by how lucky we are to have such an amazing little boy in our lives. It is such a privilege. If he ever wakes up at night, which is really rare now, I just try to enjoy the feeling of holding him. I'm pretty little and I swear he is already half my size. I saw a post on Facebook today saying there are only 940 Saturdays between your baby being born and going to college. It was shocking to think of. I'm not some Pollyanna that says every moment is amazing all the time, but I definitely want to make sure I never take it for granted.

  • DH and I have hardly gotten to see either at all lately. Maybe an hour every couple of days. Honestly. But he has been making our time so special together. Really being here when he's here. Ya know?

Sunday I told him he could finally buy that shotgun he's been wanting for a while now. Instead, he tells me that he always gets something for himself and I do without. He told me it was time to finally go get a new camera since he knows how activated I get just using my phone. Although I could have argued no, that last time I turned an offer for him to buy me something, it didn't go well. You should face seen my H strutting around all proud of himself for doing that. It was kind of cute.

And tonight he made a meal worthy of a fire star restaurant all because I said I could really go for some grilled vegetables or just about anything else he makes because he's "such an awesome cook." I guess it's all in how you phrase it.

I think I'm starting to figure this stuff out. Lol! Lately I feel like we're learning so many new things about each other, about how to communicate with one another. Sound sappy, I know.
