DH on PMS Vent

i'll try to keep it short.

we had a really crappy vacation last week. DH's mom is going through a bunch of crap, including menopause, and is unmediated so wacky. we were super thankful for the free stay at the beach condo, but the guy who owns it was dropping in at all hours.

anyway, so after a super stressful week that included 2 8 hour drives, we get home and DH is super pissy. his mood swings are giving me whiplash!

today, i did a crap ton of laundry, picked up the house twice (DD tore apart the living room right before he got home), ran several errand he wanted done including 30 minutes at the cologne counter trying to find a new one for DH at his request. got home, made dinner (pasta with a shallot and wine reduction sauce and chicken) and all was fine.

he comes home with roses for no reason. life is good. 2 hours later he's complaining about all the things i didn't get done today on my weekly list. then goes off on how he's frustrated and just generally unhappy. then 20 minutes later he's al funny and playing with DD tickling and laughing and is fine with me.

i mean, really getting whiplash here, then he wonders why i'm not in the mood?!?!? i can't keep up!

i've had days where the house is a mess and DD is screaming and he is fine all evening... then he turns around on some days where the house is mostly spotless and DD is an angel and he's upset over stupid little stuff. i think it may be time to tell him to go talk to a counselor or something. anytime this all comes up in conversation i just get told i need to do better keeping the house clean so he can relax when he gets off work and he'll be happier when he gets away from his current work environment and when i go back to work so money issues aren't as stressful.

blech! i was in the mood myself today. oh well, too late now. he went to bed an hour ago. vent over :-(

Punch him in the nads! How the heck are you supposed to do all that stuff while you are busy raising a toddler?

If my DH dared to day anything about the state of our house at any time there would be hell to pay. He knows good and well if he doesn't like the way I have done something he should just do it himself.

yeah, i've said that and so he kicked me out with the baby for a couple hours so he could just do it himself.

i get that i'm not a great housekeeper, but DH knew that before we got married. i do fine most days, but he's never had more than 4 hours alone with A and is perfectly happy letting her hang out and cry in her exercaucer when he wants to get something done.

Great then let him do it his damn self. Sheesh. Do you just get to relax when he gets home from work? No? Then neither does he!

i get a "break" while he watches DD and i finish up dinner or when i leave her home when i go grocery shopping. i don't consider either of those a break but whatever.

i get it, he works and wants to come home and relax. but the closest thing i get to relaxing is the 1 day a weekend where he watches DD so i can sleep in an extra hour or two.

almost looking forward to going back to work at some point just so we can divy everything bakc up again and he can't bitch about household chores anymore. its not like i'm sitting on my ass all day. i'm reading and playing with DD, and going for walks and dealing with the dog and making dinner.

yeah, you all know that and i know that.... i just stopped pumping last week so the plan is at some point to have a girls day out of town. let him deal with her for a 24 hour period with out me.
