Sometimes I can fall asleep on my side but always wake up on my back. I have a nice mattress but I worry about sleeping position. I heard you shouldn't be on your back because it can cut off blood flow or something to the uterus. Thoughts?
This has been discussed a lot....it's fine if you end up there, just roll back over when you find yourself on your back. It's still early, it doesn't really become an issue until later in second tri when the baby is heavier and presses on major blood vessels when you're on your back.

After 20 wks you should try not to. My Ob said if you do, you will know when you have to turn over, you will start feeling numb and tingly from the waste down. I did it with DD and woke up from a deep sleep from the feeling. Turned on my side and it went away almost instantly.
It will become really uncomfortable... Like someone is sitting on your chest. If its still comfortable for you, it's still ok. Your body will tell you when to stop.
