Trying to Get Pregnant

Treat yo self!

I recently splurged on a thick body cream and sugar scrub from Bath and Body Works because - wait for it - winter is coming! And I threw in a matching body spray just so that I can layer that yummy lavender scent on. However, I had no idea that the sugar scrub would leave my bathtub a sticky dirty hot mess. Is that typical with sugar scrubs? Please recommend an awesome exfoliating oil goo scrub that won't trash my tub!

What have you splurged on lately? Any regrets?

  • Overall, I've spent way too much for my classroom already. I always purchase decorating items and get them laminated and thinking, "Ok, they will last me for a while. I can always reuse them." Trying to justify my purchases. The only problem is, I get tired of them after looking at the same things for a year. I try to make the classroom look nice In the beginning of the year and rarely make any drastic changes except the bulletin boards to reflect the unit we're on and some holiday/seasonal items. I can switch things up, but seriously if you're a teacher, you know we don't have enough time in the day for anything. I feel like if I don't get any organization/ decorating done in the beginning of the year, it won't happen the remainder of the year. Let me stop, because now I'm just rambling. Haha
  • I like the Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Scrub. I wouldn't describe it as oil goo so it may not be what you are looking for.

My last splurge was my Matt & Nat bag. I got it at half price and I LOVE it.

  • @ladyale that's one of my recent splurges too! LOVE it. I also got Diorshow mascara, Mac studio fix pressed powder foundation, Mac Pro longwear concealer, bare minerals "get started" kit, Chi silk infusion hair stuff (that shit is like $20 for the tiny bottle!!), Mac eye fluff brush, the Beauty Blender, Clinique facial scrub, Fresh sugar lip balm, Nars eyeshadow, Mac eyeliner, jumbo hot rollers, h&m and forever21 hauls... I'm like REALLY into makeup lately.

I've been really bad this month. Thank god for a husband who pretends to believe me when I explain to him how each piece of makeup is a dire necessity. Lol

Totally typical of the oil-based sugar scrubs. The best body scrub I ever used was Sparkle Skin body exfoliator from Clinique, but actually I prefer just using my favorite body soap (which happens to be plain ol' Dove bar for sensitive skin) and a pair of exfoliating bath gloves. I use them every night instead of a washcloth or a pouf, and I never have dry, patchy, or scaly skin on my body. Ever.

I just bought myself a new BBT thermometer and a box of cherry Pop-Tarts. I'm hard-core.

  • I bought several book shelves from different stores in the past two months. Totally worth the money, EVERYTHING is now on a shelf and put away. Really makes the house feel nicer, even DH agrees. Btw- Avon sells a scrub that you add to your soap. I try to buy local body products, but use this when a nice scrub in needed and i am out (mark berry blend). Since its dry, I don't worry about it getting icky, and only a tiny bit is needed so it lasts a long time ( i bought this jar almost a year ago). I also buy bulk sugar scrubs at whole foods - they're locally produced, dry, and don't leave residue behind. But they are pricey, but its worth it, I barely use them anyway.
  • Doesn't Lush make a scrub? Does anyone know anything about that? I've never tried lush products
  • I FINALLY got my hair done. Cut and colored. Feels awesome. I also may have let the girl at the salon talk me into buying super expensive shampoo and conditioner.. But omg my hair feels amazing when I use them. So it's worth it for sure.

Also bought myself some sexy lingerie for mine and SO's anniversary coming up :):)

  • I splurged and got extra butter on my popcorn at the movies tonight. I know....soooo over the top.
  • I bought a fancy bra and nice underwear from VS last week. I decided I was tired if wearing the plain beige everyday.

And now I want new make-up. Change of seasons is usually a good time to buy some new stuff. A new mascara is needed... undereye concealer.... and something else (tinted moisturizer? Bronzer-powder?) since I've already lost any tan I had.

Whenevet fall hits, I want to buy everything.

  • @janda426 Ocean Salt scrub. Worth every damn penny. Smells like a fantastic limey salty beach drink and feels fabulous. I use a ton of Lush products. If you ever want something moisturizing, try their shower smoothies, I adore Turkish Delight, smells like you're bathing in a rose garden. If you wajt an intense scrub down they have some great scrubby bars, I use Buffy on my arms where I have a mild case of KP, and it helps a lot.

  • My last treat yo self was not, in fact, Lush. I bought a couple of splurgy nail polishes. Butter London's Pitter Patter and Jinsoon Polish in Jasper. Both really great fall colors. Because temps here may still be in the high nineties, but my nails will be celebrating autumn while I look at sweaters that I can't wear for another 2 months. I also heard that the salted caramel mocha is back at Starbucks, so that will be happening in the a.m.

  • I bought a bird. New bird cage for my bird and a bunch a mew toys for my bird. In all bird and everyrhing cost about $450...which is actually decent considering he was originally $600 alone without cage and toys. I have no regrets since hes such a wonderfulbirdy. I loves him! Fiance may be slightly mad but hes getting over It since he also kinda likes my bird.

Im not big on makeup or clothes...im very low key. I usually spend money on scrapbooks or stuff for my son or fiance. I also love dolls (got it from my mom who is also a doll collector) or stuff for my animals so those are usually mymoney gobblers. So it may be weird that I spent money on a bird but thats really the kind of person I am...
