My sons pediatrician told us to make the transition to whole milk and wean from the bottle...
1) My won (much like me) can not stand the milk. We tried warming it and adding formula.... Still no such luck
2) The bottle has been all but forgotten, except for the bed time bottle... I'm not sure how to rid him of it... We've built such a bed time routine that if he doesn't get to have that bottle before bed he wont go to sleep... I'm not so sure where to begin on this.
Any suggestions?

We've been working in sippy cups for almost 2 months now. He's just now starting to take the sippy before bed. He holds his sippy any other time, but wants a bottle to be held for him before bed.
The transition doesn't need to completely happen right now. It takes longer for some babies than others.
As for the bottle, we are just dropping them slowly and replacing a bottle with WCM, it's working for us. We're down to 3 a day. At daycare he will take an extra but I'm going to cut it out by not sending it, that way they will have to give him a snack instead.
If transitioning slowly doesn't work, I'd try coconut or almond, as they're both a little sweeter. That's awesome with the whole hardly any bottles thing...DS will not take a cup with milk in it to save his life. I'd let him have the nighttime bottle for now and not worry about it...most of us are still trying to get our kids just to drink out of something besides a bottle ONCE a day, so you're doing just fine.
SCANDAL!
I guess his new pedi. made me feel a little more rushed about it... She told me he needed to be off the bottle, paci and formula by mid sept.... But the more I've reasearched, I guess 15 mons is more the norm....
The paci is a whole nother story...
Someone today told me that she got both of her kids to start drinking milk by adding chocolate to it.... I was so stunned I just looked at her... as her kids ran around my office (I manage a Chiro office) like wild maniacs.... I considered it the worst advice I've gotten.
We've got him drinking Milk FINALLY... but I can't get rid of the last bottle before bed... he wont sleep without getting it....
