Our LO Lailah Rose came into the world on her own schedule starting Monday evening when my water broke while doing dishes. After getting DH packed and calling the doc we headed to the birthing center. The fluid had merconium in it and my contractions were about 2 minutes apart when we got to the hospital so plans to put off the c-section until 7:30 Tuesday morning were thwarted. After arriving to the hospital at about 10:30 Monday night, Lailah was born at 1:57 AM Tuesday 8/27/13. She weighed in at 5lbs 10.8oz but was initially in respiratory distress due to having merconium in her lungs. She was taken to the NICU by nurses. DH was able follow her shortly after and about 40 minutes later both met me in recovery where she was given a clean bill of health. We are absolutely in love and feel very blessed.
