27 wks and feeling very uncomfortable

I've been waiting on my midwife to call me back all day about how uncomfortable I've been feeling. Its hard to breathe and I've been feeling really sharp pains around my ribs. I've been told by a friend since I have a small frame and I'm just all stomach the baby could be really big and long inside me taking up all the room she says. I literally can pass for someone who's about to pop at any moment with the size of this belly I'm carrying. I was just wondering has anyone else been feeling this way or experiencing this at all?

You didn't have these uncomfortable feelings with your other pregnancies? It sounds like common pregnancy aches and pains to me.

I was never this big and never had any symptoms like this. Then again before I had my kids I was healthier. I was also involved in a bad car accident in early 2012 which took a toll on my body.
  • And here I was about to ask my doctor if it was normal to feel huge and uncomfortable, but thank God you posted. Now that I know someone else is experiencing this, I can sleep at night! What a relief.

Not everyone goes through this and I certainly never felt this way with my other 2 kids.
  • My ribs are cramping up all the time. Granted, I was kind of expecting the aches and the cramps. Stretching and standing seem to help.

  • Each pregnancy is different. I'm sure you experienced different things with the first two pregnancies as well..

I've tried that and laying on my side and it doesn't go away. The cramps are very sharp too.

So this is your third and you don't know that you get short of breath and a belly? I'm sure there is a reason your midwife is ignoring you if you ask such stupid questions.

Come on now really? Don't answer with a stupid response. If I stated I never felt this way with my other two pregnancies then you should understand. Then again...

  • It's my third pregnancy as well and it's by far my most uncomfortable. As others have said, it's only gonna get worse from here....much much worse.

  • Gah!

If you've been pregnant a couple of times before and all the sudden you feel super bad in a way that doesn't match your past experiences, reach out to your doctor/midwife for sure. You know your body better than all of these strangers on the internets.

I really don't see the point in sucking it up to be tough. That's not healthy for you or your baby.

Best of luck! I have no idea why people are being crazy in their responses to this. Seriously ladies: Not cool.
Thank you. My midwife called me back and is more concerned about when I eat its hurting so I'm going in tomorrow.
  • This is my third and this is the first time I've felt with shortness of breath. I'm only 30 but I can't help but think it is just that I'm getting older and harder to deal with it all, physically. Some of the BHC can make me stop in tracks. One could hope this means shorter labor with all these "practice" symptoms!!

I thought the same about the age thing. I knew I wasn't the only one feeling this way even if its my 3rd. Every pregnancy is definitely different.

You failed to mention pain after eating. Vague explanation means vague response. Pain after eating especially on your right side in your back could be gallbladder.

  • My favorite is how she is uncomfortable because of how little she is and how she's all belly. OP sounds like you already called your midwife but just wanted to come here and make sure we all knew how thin you were pre pregnancy. I hope your midwife can help you and to answer your question, yes I do feel unfomfortable all over while pregnant.

Yeah I saw that and wasn't going back to edit after I had comments but its been happening when I eat. My gallbladder was removed years ago so that is ruled out.
