Just turned 3m. LO gets sleepy around 5ish. probably 80% of the time. Should I let him nap for 30 mins or so and then do bedtime around 6:30/7 or start bedtime routine around 5 and go to bed by 5:30-6? Anyone else had same issue?
Does your LO wake up on his own after about 30 mins when he goes to sleep at 5 or are you waking him up? If he wakes naturally and is alert for that time period, I would keep that as a nap, and make his bedtime later. Basically, follow his cues.
DD does best when she gets an evening nap before bedtime. Her bedtime is usually 8ish though and she naps every 2 hours so a 5 -6 nap is normal for her.
DD gets a nap around 5:30 or 6 but I only let her sleep for 30 min. She nurses at 7:30 and down for the night no later than 8. If she doesn't nap she is really fussy until she nurses. Plus it lets me get dinner ready!
cat naps around that time for this age are really normal. LO at 6 months will still take it if she wakes up to early from her afternoon nap-I don't let her stay up past 4 hours at a time so sometimes that cat nap will bridge that gap if there's a 5-6 hour time lapse due to early nap or plans that had to interfere.
LO took a cat nap around that time until she was 5.5 months, when we transitioned to 2 naps.
