I am 34 weeks and have has Braxton hicks pretty much all day everyday for 4 days now... Well today the contractions have been anywhere from 2-5 an hour and I have a "leaky" feeling but have not noticed loss of my mucous plug... The contractions have become a little more painful but not bad enough to leave work pain wise yet... Is it possible to have painful BH?
Re: Could this be it??
Yes, BH can be painful. I don't know what you mean by "leaky feeling" but if you are soaking a pad or feel a gush when standing up after laying down for about 20 minutes, it could be your water, could being the key word. Very few women actually have their water break like in the movies. You can also lose your mucous plug at any point, it regenerates and has no bearing on when you will go into labor. Also, most OBs go by the 5-1-1 rule. Meaning they want you to come in when contractions are 5 minutes apart, lasting one minute each, for at least one hour.
To be completely frank with you, you should read a pregnancy book, do some research, and have a good conversation with your OB about signs of actual labor. These are things you really should be familiar with at this point. And this is a question that gets posted constantly, we aren't doctors, we are internet strangers to you. If you are concerned, again, call your doctor.

Call your doctor. We can't tell you if you're in labor.
