Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Update: Dutch Wonderland (PA) with walking 13 month old.

So we took him this past saturday.  He loved it!  There was plenty for him to do.  We played in the waterpark, he went down a couple of the slides (i was on top, dh was on the bottom to catch him), then he went on the carousel, and a couple of kiddie rides by himself.  We did have to stop one because he got scared, but he did great.  One in particular was a bunch of bulldozers on a rotating platform, and he LOVED that.  He also went on a charlie choo choo ride where he sat on the train and we pushed him around with a special stick. Together we did the log flumes, the boat rides, monster truck ride, sunoco car ride and we did a big family water tube raft slide. We even did the tilt-a-whirl as a family... but that one was a bit much.  Oh and we went on the train around the park.  Totally worth it!
They let us bring in a little cooler with milk and snacks for him, which was great.  We got there around 1pm and left around 8:30 (late night for him).  He napped in my arms for about 40 minutes halfway through the day.  Great day.  Highly recommend :)

  • Wow I am impressed that he could sit on the bulldozer ride by himself! We just went this past weekend too, there's no way my DS would be able to remain seated and he's 18 months.

We went on Saturday, also, and we didn't put DS on the bulldozer ride either.  We had a good time but I think in the future I would wait and say its better for 2+.

  • The bulldozer was the tamest one that he could go on his own.  They strap them in with a seatbelt. I was so proud of him, he even got the front bucket to go up and down!  He was loving it and clapping with joy.   It tried to put him on the flying pandas, but that one scared him, so we got them to stop it.
