Vaccination case update

Yesterday we got my exh's cross motion on the vax case. It was so silly! Nowhere in the papers did he offer any support for his position of keeping dc unvaccinated... He really just kept spelling out the details of how the original decision was come to, back when we were married.

As usual, he threw in a curve ball on the cross motion, by trying to get me to be held in contempt for supposedly taking dc to church w out his consent. Thank god for email... I found an old one frm 2010 where he gave his consent. Ha! I love gmail's unlimited storage!

So bottom line, there is nothing there, and I am feeling v good. My response to his cross will go out tomorrow, and our court date is sept 12. I can't believe this will all be decided in less than 2 weeks... Shortest motion time ever for us. I can't say for sure how it will go, but I am feeling confident.

Thanks everyone for your support when I began this process!

  • I read a little news blurb somewhere that a Church who was against measles immunization had an outbreak. Texas I think.

And then not too long after that, I've heard of parent's being sued for not giving their child the vaccine.

Good luck. I hope you win your case.

  • Okay, I'm sorry Piffle. I didn't read your post.  She references the same case  in Texas - I agree in that he doesn't even appear to be trying. If you come well prepared, I think you've got a good shot.

  • It's like his self- righteousness is totally clouding his judgement to see what he might need to do to actually have a shot. For example, I read some cases before I filed, and divorced parents have won the right to not vax- there is precedent. But those parents had to bring church leaders to testify for them, and witnesses to prove that the parent who wanted to vaccinate now truly believe vaccines were harmful and was not filing out of spite. So it is possible- but exh did none of these things.

    I was so surprised.
  • Glad things seem to be going your way.  Good luck for the 12th!
