So, I have used my crockpot maybe 3 times in my life. It's just not my jam, but I am working to correct that. So, I have @stokedwifey 's freezer meals all prepped and ready to go in my freezer, but I left one out for dinner this evening. Now, the question:

If you have a 1.6lb roast... How long do you cook it? Low or high? High or low? How do I know? Is there a chart somewhere? Can someone just tell me?

Re: Attn: Crockpot Wizards

  • With roasts I just put them into the crockpot in the morning on low and let them cook all day or for at least 8 hours. It's probably bad but I don't adjust based on the weight, they always get done. Hope you enjoy your roast! :)

  • Loading the player...
  • It's thawed! And the crockpot is new... And has seen very little action.

A roast I would do maybe 7-8 hours. Chicken dries out pretty easily so I don't let that go all day but anything else I usually do 7-8. I do low unless I need something to cook quickly for 4-5 hours.
    This exactly
Ditto.  IMO, anything but chicken can go 7-8 hours, but I only do chicken 5-6 or it's horrible.

  • Thanks girls! I put it in at 1 on high and H gets home around 6:30, I figure If it's done before then I can just keep it on warm?
