Hello there!
After popping in yesterday to say hello, I realized just how much I missed all of you and have decided to come back! I probably won't be on here quite as much as I was before, but I will do my best! There are A LOT of new people here since the last I was active, and I would like to say I am so sorry that you are here.. but very glad you have found this board. It is full of so many amazing and wonderful ladies who helped me more than I'll ever be able to explain. ((Hugs)) to all of you.
For those who don't know me, I'm ash! DH and I got married June 30th, 2012 and got pregnant for the first time on our honeymoon in August 2012. I had never been pregnant before, but I was incredibly nervous and excited. On October 22nd, at 10 weeks 4 days we heard the heartbeat for the first time. It was 170bpm and our doctor told us it was a very strong heartbeat and at that stage in the pregnancy our chances of miscarriage were 1 in 100. We had an ultrasound scheduled the next week on November 1st, just at the cusp of being 12 weeks. We were so excited. However, when we went in for the ultrasound, our baby no longer had a heartbeat. We didn't know what caused it, and since it was my first and only pregnancy/miscarriage no testing has been done. We didn't know the sex of the baby, even though I had been calling him he since day one, so we decided on the name Riley since it was gender neutral. I miss our sweet baby everyday.
I didn't handle my miscarriage very well. I thought I was getting better, but our EDD came and it got worse and it caused a lot of strain on mine and DH's relationship. We hit a rough patch around our first anniversary and were on the brink of divorce. I made an appointment to see my family doctor and she prescribed me a low dose antidepressant.. and let me tell you, they worked wonders for me. If you are experiencing signs of depression PLEASE don't be afraid to talk to somebody about it or see a doctor if you need to! Long story short, DH and I worked through our problems, and now the both of us are happier than we have been in a long time.
