My 16 month old hasn't taken a bottle or had formula for about 2 months...until about a week ago when he started asking for one (pointing to the bottle drawer; screaming until we made a bottle). Now, he's had 3 bottles in a week....including tonight when he absolutely refused to eat dinner (he ate normally for his other meals and snacks) and instead would only drink a bottle...eventually having 3 bottles totaling 14 ounces and falling asleep that way.
I have no clue why the sudden desire for a bottle...anyone else experience this? Is it a problem or no big deal to have a bottle at this age on occasion? He does still nurse once daily, right before bed.
Just a note, the bottles are formula mixed with a bit of whole milk. Our son refuses to drink milk, despite trying everything over the past 4 months (Doc says it's fine; he gets calcium from cheese and yogurt).
