Facebook page for LO

A college friend of mine set-up a Facebook page for her 7-year old and 4-year old. I do not understand the point of this. The pages do not have any privacy blocks on them. Weird, right?

I never understood why people did this. Then it's super weird when the parent posts on the kid's page and when the kid answers, you know it's the parent answering, so they are basically talking to themselves. So weird.

i have serious privacy concerns with stuff like that. i'll admit i post pics of A on Facebook to share with family around the country, but we will still be the parents who won't allow a FB account until she is 13, and even then help her set the privacy setings.

I have a friend who isn't on facebook but made a page for her two LOs, starting at birth. I'm not a huge fan of it. But to each their own. I post pictures of DS but my privacy settings are pretty strict, and I have my friends segmented into different lists so only some people see certain posts.

That makes me so uncomfortable! I barely post pics of DD as it is and I have super high privacy settings on my FB. I don't want my kids that "out" there!

I think its dumb when people do that. Its just for tagging reasons I think cause obviously a baby can't get on facebook. DUMB.

I just "allowed" my 14yo on FB. My other kids are 7, and 5 and not getting Facebook. I think fb for kids is not ok. Under 18 /21 some places, then not ok. Only reason my son has a Fb as he lives half time at his dads and his dad allows it. I have the password and stalk his fb tho. I check all his messages and everything - he also knows this too

I think its very weird. My FB friend has a page for her 2 year old, she started it when her LO was only 1!

My husband's friend started his son's FB when he was still a fetus.

My nephew has one. He's maybe 6 or 7? I think it's ridiculous. My mom told me I need to watch what I put on FB because he's on there. No, FB is for older teens/adults. He shouldn't even have one. He's not even on my friends list.
