I had wondered what I ought to do with WCM now that Emery's one but still nursing like a 2 month old. He's been taking milk here and there for a few months now, just in oatmeal when we share it, or in ice cream, or bites of my cereal. The last month or so I've been giving him some in sippys, but nothing super regular.
Our doctor said if he's nursing that much, (so much, SO much still) there isn't any need to worry about giving him WCM, he'll get the fat and nutrients still from my milk. I'm still giving him some when I think of it and when I think he wants it, but it's hit or miss.
Anyone get this advice? Anyone else get different advice?
Re: EBFers, my doc answered a question for me.
Although my doctor says to aim for 15 oz of dairy(cheese, yogurt, milk). I fall way short of that though. Most milk comes right back out of her mouth. She sips it and spits it out.
I never really worry about it. Both girls were/are boobaholics. I feel like she gets what she needs.

@jannira forth I go!
My Dr. basically confirmed that and said to just go with the flow if he's getting a wide variety of foods, which is easier said than done for me. We have had luck with coconut milk too, so he's dropped quite a few nursing sessions since he started drinking that.
If they're nursing at least 3 times a day, WCM isn't necessary. W also doesn't get any supplements; he eats enough so I don't worry about it. The pedi never mentioned it.
