Hello!
What will you be using to make baby food? I've seen a few baby food makers for sale on Craigslist and was thinking of buying one. I've seen the Baby Brezza, Baby Bullet, and KidCo baby food maker.
We have been using a Cuisinart immersion blender. It came with a food processor-like container, but we usually just purée whatever fruit LO's eating in a glass. The immersion blender is also great for blending soups, vinaigrette, etc., so multi-purpose.
I would love to get a Vitamix but it's too expensive for me to justify getting it. I just bought an immersion blender. With that, a blender and a food processor that I already have, we're covered. Plus I bought a little bowl and masher specifically designed to mash food for baby.
FYI, I have the baby bullet and it is great if you are making really small quantities, but if you want to make and freeze, I highly recommend a full size steamer and blender. I spent like 4 hours making and freezing various sorts of baby food last weekend, and it was a total pain in the ass for large quantities. But tonight I pureed a half an avocado in the baby bullet and THAT was perfect.
I have a cuisinart 4 cup food processor and steamer basket. Still deciding on how I plan on storing it and freezing it all though. I have a pretty small freezer.

Darn it I just realized that, thank you. I haven't opened it yet so I'll return that & get the Baby Chef Ultimate

I saw a video on babycenter.com about making and storing baby food. It showed how after you purée the food, you can pour it into your breast milk bags and freeze them flat just like we did with our BM. I will prob do this since I too have a small freezer.

Ooh good idea! I used ice cube trays and then transferred to zip locks.
We got a Baby Brezza as a gift. It works well but does make pretty small batches. If we hadn't gotten it as a gift, I probably would have just bought a good food processor. We froze in ice cube trays and then transferred to glad ware tubs.
We have a Vitamix too. It was worth the money to us because we use it almost every day for stuff that we are making. It's perfect for making his food too.
UPdate to this -- yesterday I used my immersion blender on an avocado and a few bananas, and it was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than either the baby bullet OR my blender/ food processor. My advice would be-- don't even bother with buying anything other than this!
