DS is a little over 8 months, and drinks out of a sippy cup perfectly fine. He has 2 bottles a day, and has baby food twice a day. I'm wondering when people started getting away from the bottle.
No sippy cups for us at all. We went from bottle to straw up at 12 months and will do the same for our son. Sippy cups aren't good for their teeth. So we skip them entirely.
We're doing straw cups like PP mentioned. She started using them around 6 months, and now has no issues whatsoever. She has only had water so far. She gets a 4oz bottle of breast milk around noon every day at daycare, so I'm thinking about starting to give her 2oz in the straw cup (to drink with lunch instead of water), and then putting the other 2oz in a bottle for her to finish as needed. She dribbles a lot of water down her face, and I don't want milk wasted... So I'm thinking we'll start with that and continue to transition by taking her lead. I'm hoping to be done with bottles by 11 or 12 months.
I just transitioned off bottles and to sippy cups. DS is 8 months and he uses regular sippy cups and straw cups. He has done great but doesn't finish a cup at night sometimes so may have to add a bottle back in then so his formula intake isn't going down.
