SUV suggestions?

We are in the market for a new car. I'd like an SUV and it needs to have enough room in the back seat for 2 carseats and preferably another person (even if it's a little tight). I'd like enough room in the trunk area for a double BOB stroller. The problem is I hate driving big cars! My MIL's Tahoe is way too big and a Honda Pilot I sat in a while ago might be too. :) (I know, I'm a wuss, but my part of town has narrow streets and small parking spaces!) Anyone have a not so big SUV that they love?

Re: SUV suggestions?

  • My Jeep Cherokee is pretty Awesome! I love the decent amount of space without being overkill, can get anything in the cargo area just fine etc.

I have had two carseats and an adult in the back. It's tight but not unliveable.

I love it, because I like being higher off the ground, I like having the ability to haul bigger stuff without Hs truck but in my day to day life I don't need an absolute ton of space either.

My parents have a Mountaineer I really like too. Not too big, not too little.

  • I have n Acura Rdx. I really love it.
  • I have a Ford Edge and I LOVE it. We only have one carseat in there regularly, but have put 2 on occasion (outings w/ cousins, etc) and 2 seats fit fine with room for someone in the middle. There's also a good amount of storage in the back.

  • I love my cx9. I went from a Mazda 6, to cx7, to cx9. Has an awesome turn radius, three rows, double bob fits great. Doors are big though...making it tough for strap ins in small parking lots

  • I had a jeep grand Cherokee Laredo that I LOVED. I had 2 carseats and a double stroller and could still sit in the back seat no problem. It was a great car.
I recently got the GMC Acadia with 3rd row seating. Another great car, but definitely bigger than the Jeep and it was an adjustment to learn how to judge the bigger SUV. Although it has a great back up camera which helps.
and i thought i loved you then <3<a href="http://daisypath.com/">Daisypath Anniversary tickersBaby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • I have a Honda Pilot and was worried about parking, etc, b/c it seemed so big! But honestly it turns like a car and is super easy to drive. We have had 2 carseats in back w/ an adult. When the third rown is down you have SO much storage it's crazy. When it's up it has fit 3 adults and you still have storage! I love it.

  • I have a ford explorer and love it... It fits 2 car seats and has a 3rd row- the back up camera makes parking a breeze... It's so awesome to drive I plan on keeping it for a loooong time

  • Another vote for the CX-9. I went from a Passat to the CX9 and honestly, it really drives like a car. I have two car seats in the back and another person could fit in between the two but there wouldn't be much room. With the 3rd row folded down, I can easily fit my double jogging stroller. It also has a great safety rating and really good re-sale value.

These are all cars that are on my "potentials" list! Except the Pilot... It just seems so big!! But... maybe I'll put it back on. ;) I've only ever driven Hondas before and I love them. Thanks for the suggestions!
