  • SS/Other: I usually put her down asleep, but sometimes put her down when I know she's drowsy/tired enough to fall asleep right away.

  • Usually asleep or drowsy. Trying to do it just drowsy.
  • Haha, my baby won't go 'down', I have to sleep with him or he has to sleep on me

  • Once she falls asleep, I slooooowly put her in her crib. I can't put her in there awake or even drowsy... If she notices her mobile her eyes pop open and she is ready to party! Lol
  • Usually drowsy, occasionally asleep. Nap time is a different story. He has to be OUT to go down for a nap. It's much harder!
I had to go back to my old standby of using the hair dryer in his room to get him down to nap this weekend. Napping strikes suck!
  • Some nights he's awake and others he's drowsy. Tonight he was awake but he's learning how to put himself to sleep. I may have to go in once or twice to soothe him

  • I am a bit jealous of you guys who can do it while they are awake or just a little drowsy. I have to wait until he is asleep most times, on a very rare occasion.. I mean like three times so far.. I could put him down drowsy, but his eyes would have to be closed still.

  • For naps, we usually put him in his swing or napper awake. For bedtime he has to be very drowsy or asleep. If I put him down awake, he shrieks!

  • I used to always put him down when he was out cold, but lately he's fallen asleep a couple of times on his own. At this point we have to trick him. If he knows we're trying to put him to sleep, he wakes up with a vengeance. We constantly have to switch up his routine so he doesn't see it coming, especially for naps. It's been nearly a month since this started. The only up side is that once in a while he'll knock out when he thinks he's playing. ;)

  • If he falls asleep while nursing I put him down asleep. Otherwise, I put him down drowsy. For naps he doesn't nurse beforehand so he always goes into the crib awake but drowsy.

  • I try for drowsy or awake, but sometimes he pretty much conks out on the boob and goes down asleep. Tonight he was very very awake and managed to go to sleep without our intervention! He made some noise but didn't cry and eventually went to sleep!

  • We're all over the place. He used to be able to fall asleep pretty easily on his own, so I would put him down awake but tired pretty much every night. However, ever since he figured out how to roll onto his tummy, he almost immediately flips over when I lay him down, and then gets upset 'cause he can't get back. So he usually has to be asleep or really drowsy when we put him to bed, or he rolls over and works himself up again. Every now and again, we can put him down awake like we used to.
