THE GOOD: I'm down another 2 pounds this week!
THE BAD: I think the bulk of my post delivery weight loss is over, it's been slowing down a lot so I think the last 20ish pounds I want to lose I'm going to need to work for.
THE PROUD: This sounds silly, but I've managed to get a shower everyday since I had DS...I really look forward to these minutes to myself!
THE PLAN: I w anted to start MFP this past week but just didn't.  I went in yesterday to adjust my goals and I set my calorie intake to 2,000.  I had a hard time figuring out how many calories to eat each day to lose weight while breast feeding.  I came across this website that allows you to put in your height, weight and age and if you're lactating and helps you figure out how many calories a day you should be eating.  Here is the link if anyone is interested!

QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence? A hot dog with ketchup and mustard and a beer :)

  • This is my first post for the healthy living discussion! My goals are to get down to my pre pregnancy weight, eat better (less sweets and more healthy options), and get into better shape so I can go up the stairs without being winded!

THE GOOD: I'm down 18 lbs and only 10 to go to be back to my pre pregnancy weight!
THE BAD: I'm not watching what I eat at all. If I want an obscene amount of ice cream, I eat it.
THE PROUD: Though I didn't do anything to achieve it, my stomach is basically completely gone. You would have no idea I just had a baby. This makes me ridiculously happy!
THE PLAN: I want to eat less sweets and replace with healthier options. I also would like to try to get back on the treadmill soon, even just to walk.

QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence?
If it's a cookout type picnic, a delicious cheeseburger!

Welcome MissyCee! I wish my stomach didn't look like I'd had a baby! I've always had sort of a rounded tummy and I don't know that it will ever be flat...I just hope to get it back to where it was before I was PG!

  • GOOD: I currently weigh less than when I got pregnant.

BAD: Feeling awful about the way I look. My clothes just don't fit, so I end up wearing yoga pants/ maternity shirts and feeling sloppy. I can't spend $$ on clothes now, as my leave is unpaid and I have 3 children needing clothes for a new season.

PROUD: I am proud that I stuck to the GD diet during my pregnancy and didn't gain excess weight.

PLAN: I joined WW online and am spending time today menu planning for the family. Anyone use any meal planning apps they love? Also joined a mommy walking group.

Beer. I can't turn down a Summer Lager!
  • GOOD:  My stomach has already shrank a ton at 12 days PP and I only have 5 stretch marks!  I didn't care if I got them or not and fully expected a ton since my mom had them but I'm excited I can wear my bikini proud next summer

BAD:  since I had GD I'm basically eating everything I wasn't allowed to eat before

PROUD:  LO and I are finally getting the hang of breastfeeding.  she actually wakes herself up now most times and I don't have to fight to keep her awake during feedings

PLAN:  the GD diet kept me from gaining during pregnancy so I'm going to do a modified form of that plus start up my gym membership again.  I always do 15-30 minutes on weight machines every other day targeting different areas and as long as I can stand it on the stair machine since its the hardest but burns more calories

    QOTW:  potato salad
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • The good: I'm not getting worse (emotionally)
The bad: I'm still hella depressed and my anxiety is through the roof
The proud: I took the time to email my psych and start formulating a plan
The plan: start taking omega-3 and folic acid supplements, both are tied to mood and mood regulation, and they're totally BF safe

    Indulgence: deviled eggs

  • THE GOOD: hardly any eating out. Cooking almost daily.

THE BAD: I haven't lost a ton of wt, still up 20 lbs, even w breast feeding

THE PROUD: starting a 30 day plank challah w today.

THE PLAN: starting the plank challenge to tighten my core. Also going hiking w LO and some friends today.

QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence?
Beers and other junk food while on a boat!
  • THE GOOD: I've been cooking, so we haven't been eating out nearly as much.

THE BAD: I've eaten a lot of brownies. They were so good though. Also, it's still SO hot here and I haven't done any walking.

THE PROUD: LO and I had our first solo outing Thursday and we survived! I've also been doing very well with portion control.

THE PLAN: I would like to try to get out for walks with LO at least a couple of evenings this week if it's not suffocatingly hot and humid.

QOTW: Any type of cold salad. Specifically potato salad or macaroni salad.
    image
  • The good: I'm 11 days pp and only have 6lbs left to get back to pre-pregnancy weight

The bad: I ate 1/2 a bag of skittles last night

The proud: I can fit back into pre-pregnancy jeans! There's a little bit of a muffin top, but hey, I'll take it.

The plan: try to start going on some short walks this week if it cools down.

    QOTW: macaroni salad or watermelon

  • I really like this thread. I am thankful for the august bump ladies still keeping in touch! helps my mood, keeps me sane! This is my first post for the healthy living discussion. My goals are to get down to my pre pregnancy weight, eat the way I used to before getting pregnant (due to gd I felt so deprived so now I'm eating a lot of what I couldn't have because I missed it so much!) and exercise! I never exercised before baby or during pregnancy so I want to make it a priority for my life.

THE GOOD: I've been able to walk with DH and LO the past few nights around the block. I had a c section and its not easy getting around.

THE BAD: I've been eating more junk because I was such a good girl sticking to the gd diet. Also feeling down about my saggy belly. I don't know how much weight I've lost because I don't own a scale so I'm really excited for my pp appt Wednesday.

THE PROUD: Sticking with breastfeeding because I know it's so beneficial for my babe and for helping me lose weight.

THE PLAN: to exercise when I have recovered completely.

Indulgence: don't really have one but with the weather feeling like fall, it being September and all, I'm really wanting to make some chili and a pumpkin dessert!!!

  • THE GOOD: I only have 9 lbs to pre pregnancy weight, but I think the bulk of what I lost was from the delivery

THE BAD: I've been having a hard time breaking the bad eating habits I picked up in pregnancy

THE PROUD: I've been getting outside and walking about a mile 4-5 days a week.

THE PLAN: I just logged back into myfitnesspal app to try and watch what I'm eating again.

    QOTW: hot dogs and beer

It's my first time posting on this thread.
My goal is to lose the baby weight and exercise more. I really need to tone up. Happy to see so many healthy mamas!

The Good: Although I had GD, I still managed to gain 40 lbs. Being on a strict diet and still gaining sucked, but I am now only 15 lbs away from pre pregnancy weight. I have been walking daily.

The Bad: I am still eating take our often as baby doesn't always allow time for cooking and dh isn't always home to help.

The Proud: I am proud of my daily walks with LO.

The Plan: I am going to be doing a Barre class after 6 weeks pp check up. Also planning to start strength training. And based on the rave reviews of 30 day shred, I might try that too.

    I don't do we'll dieting,so I have to really focus on exercise.

    Good luck to us all!

ETA: Indulgence is any type of dessert--those red, white and blue frosted sugar cookies come to mind.

  • GOOD: I lost a bunch of weight!
BAD: it was by having a baby a little over 24 hrs ago.
PROUD: so far we're nursing like champs. Most of the nursing staff seems impressed with my labor & mothering skills. And my little guy is perfect.
PLAN: get this BF thing sorted, get home and figure out how to be a family at home, then ill worry about my fitness.
    QOTW: potato salad

  • Hey everyone! Happy Labor Day! The good: I've lost quite a bit of my weight and haven't done anything yet to lose it. I definitely am eating healthier. Regarding LO we started giving her bottles so she's finally eating more of what I pump. I've mentioned we were feeding her with a SNS tube and she just wasn't getting enough. The bad: I still have 20 pounds to go to pre-pregnancy weight and 30 to get where I'd like to be. I also am still figuring out the breastfeeding thing although I'm more hopeful now that she's eating more. The plan: as soon as my weight stays stable I'm going to start MFP again and hopefully get out for some walks this week. I also plan on reintroducing the breast to LO even though she's using bottles I'm hopeful we will be successful. The proud: oops I switched the order, I think finally figuring out a way to feed LO so she's gaining weight again. I was so devasted every weight check and it was down.

  • This is my first post on this thread also, and I can't wait to be able to start working toward my goals.  We can do this ladies!

THE GOOD: I am only 5 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight.

THE BAD: My tummy still has not shrunken all the way back down and I still have a little pouch.  Also, once those last  5 lbs are gone I will still look really flabby since a lot of my pre-pregnancy weight was muscle and now it is fat.

THE PROUD: DH and I have been taking LO on walks and I am proud of myself for how far I have come in moving around after my c-section even if I am not allowed to do anything exercise related yet.

THE PLAN: I was a huge runner before I got pregnant (LO didn't let me run since 7 wks) and I plan to start running and building up my endurance, speed, and mileage again as soon as cleared by my doctor.  I also plan to weight train and do bodyrock as I did before getting pregnant.

QOTW: deviled eggs, potato salad, and a beer
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker Anniversary
  • This is my first post as well. My goal is to eat healthier so I'm fueling our bodies well and to get my belly looking ok.
The good. I'm getting better at preparing food with one hand and getting LO to sit alone.

The bad. SO has been in charge of most meals and its hard to get him to make healthy food. Also it seems like everything we eat makes LO and I gassy. I don't have an appetite, I'm hungry but don't feel like eating anything but ice cream

The proud: dd and I are getting to know each other and have less fussy evenings. Idk how much I weigh but my belly is pretty small, just very stretched out and full of marks

The plan. I'm trying to cut out dairy because it makes me gassy so I figure it's probAbly not great for dd either. Also take more control over meals

  • THE GOOD: I am down 19lbs from my pregnancy weight. 12lbs left until I hit my pre preg weight.

THE BAD: Because of the heat, I haven't made it outside to walk at all. Booo!

THE PROUD: On the recommendation of you awesome ladies, I downloaded My Fitness Pal. I have kept track of every calorie I have eaten and managed to stay under my calorie goal six out of seven days!

THE PLAN: Stick with the MFP ap, and take a 15 minute walk each day. (small goals!)

QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence? Deviled eggs. Yum!

  • This is my first time posting in this thread. My goal is to start eating healthy and working out again (as soon as my dr gives me the ok). I would like to lose the last of my pregnancy weight and tone up. I was happy with my pre pregnancy weight.
I have done ww in the past and will probably start up again to help with the weight loss and healthy eating.

The good: I'm only 10 pounds away from my pre pregnancy weight

THE BAD:i have not been eating well. Out of convenience dh and i have been getting takeout a lot.

The proud: I went on a short walk with dd1 last night and I have been trying to spend extra time with her.

THE PLAN: to make a weekly meal plan and go grocery shopping for all of the ingredients. I need to eat healthy and make sure I am also having healthy snacks.

In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence? Spinach dip or guacamole with chips.

  • This is my first post on this thread too! I'm very excited to start brim healthier!

The GOOD: I have lost all my baby weight except 2 pounds.

The BAD: those two pounds have been haunting me the last four weeks and I have not change my diet at all :(

The PROUD: breastfeeding is finally getting easier 6 weeks pp and LO is more effiencent at just eating rather than comfort sucking.

The PLAN: Weight watchers has always worked for me so I plan to get back on weight watchers and intend to lose 22 pounds to get at the weight I was two years ago. I also plan on starting to walk with LO nightly.

Favorite indulgence: definitely fruit salad and deviled eggs!!

    We can do this ladies!!
  • I like this!!  I mostly lurk here but and really trying to motivate myself to get rid of this 20lbs that I gained over my last two pregnancies.
THE GOOD: Ummm.... I don't know if I really have much good right now.  Lost 20 pounds but still have another 20 to get back to pre-pregnancy  weight (not just from this pregnancy but also left over from my first one).
THE BAD: I am trying to eat healthier starting now but the "eat anything" habits I had when I was pregnant are hard to break.
THE PROUD: I signed up for a gym membership.  Also I found a 6 week yoga workshop that I'll be signing up for as well.
THE PLAN: My current goal is gym (cardio) 2x week and yoga 2x week.  Also I would like to walk as much as possible.  As far as diet I want to start off following the Bob Greene skinny rules... other than that I am pretty good about dieting as I know what I should be eating/how much, just need more self control.
QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence? pasta salad.

  • I'm so happy to see all the new ladies in this check-in! I hope everyone has a great week :)

  • Another FTer on the heathy living check-in. My goal is to tone up, get back into my skinny clothes and try hard to not focus so much on the scale!

THE GOOD: I was cleared to start exercising at my 6w Appt last week. My awesome H got me 3 months of personal training for my Birthday and I've had 2 sessions already. It feels great to be getting back on the healthy bandwagon

THE BAD: we had family pizza night last night and I ate WAY too much and felt sick afterwards :(

THE PROUD: since DD has been giving us longer stretches at night I've gotten up earlier to make myself a healthy breakfast and take some "me" time before DS gets up for the day.

THE PLAN: continue WW online to help monitor what I eat. Ive done it several times before and it really helps me make better choices on what I eat throughout the day. Continue with the training sessions 3x a week and id like to try and get out of the house with both LOs 2x a week for walks and errands if this stinking hot wave would
go away (I wear DD whenever we go out and 90+ weather is no good)

Oops. First time poster here and didn't identify that, didn't think to but after I read other people's I realize maybe it was a faux pas.

My goal is to get some motivation from you ladies, really tone up, and just make a whole lifestyle change. Ill admit, I eat a lot of fast food and carry out. I don't live on the stuff but I eat it way more than I should. I don't want LO to be one of these kids who eats McDonald's all the time and is a real picky eater, so I have to change my habits first.

  • I'm just joining this week as well. I am just over 4 weeks pp. I am embarrassed to say I gained way too much. I stopped weighing myself in the last week but I would say I gained about 45 lbs.

THE GOOD: I'm down 29 lbs.

THE BAD: 16 to go, and I keep indulging in snack food and eating way too many carbs.

THE PROUD: I've been walking 3 miles a day the last few weeks, taking occasional breaks for rain/errands.

THE PLAN: Keep up with the walking, join a stroller fitness class and start eating better.

QOTW: In honor of Labor Day, what is your favorite picnic indulgence? Corn on the cob.
