Costume help

I know it is early for Halloween costumes but I have this one for my LO. He is 17 months old. It was a hand me down and I just realized that I'm missing a paw. Any suggestion son what I can do to improvise the missing paw?

Re: Costume help

  • I wouldn't worry about it....I would be willing to bet he would spend the evening ripping the paws off because he won't be able to pick up or hold anything with it on.  Unless it's for the feet and then I would probably still not worry about it.

This. Or, if it's really going to bother you, you could use a mitten, or stich a simple u-shape on a piece of fabric so it's like a mitten without a thumb... It's hard to say without seeing what the costume and the other paw look like! If it's important to you, post a pic and I can try to give you better ideas.
  • I thought I posted a link to it but apparently I don't know how lol. Let me see if I can figure it out.
  • So is it the hand or foot paw that is missing?  Because I still don't think the hand ones are worth fighting.  DS2 would rip it off or scream until someone took them off because he wouldn't be able to hold/touch anything.

If it's the foot one, is your DS old enough to walk?  Is he going to be able to walk with the foot paws on?  They look like they would make it difficult to walk.  If the pants portion is too small, you could pick up some matching furry material from Hobby Lobby/Michael's and cut it so create a cuff at the bottom and attach on the inside of the hem with velcro so that it comes down over his shoe but doesn't completely cover it like a sock/bootie would.
