So I have been in the hospital for about two weeks. The blood flow to the umbilical cord is starting to reverse so they are talking c-section in the next week. I am already high risk with a clotting disorder and now the baby is high risk since the placehta is starting to fail. I will be 29 weeks on Thursday and I am waiting on a NICU consult today. I was hoping I could make it to 32 weeks but unfortunately alll signs are pointing to a delivery this week and the baby is in the 14th growth percentile. Anyone else beenin this boat?
Re: 29 weeks c-section
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

Three and a half years ago this was me exactly, abruption and all. The steroid shots will help a ton, but be prepared for a reasonably long NICU stay...most babies come home close to their due dates, which was definitely the case for us...Corri was due May 15th, was born March 5th and came home May 6th. Se was a healthy preemie, no major issues other than the usual help needed breathing (CPAP, nasal cannula), and some feeding issues (it took her a while to get the suck swallow breathe reflex), but now at 3.5 she is more than caught up and extremely developmentally advanced (and has been for nearly two years now). Good luck mama, wishing you a short and uneventful NICU stay.
