Sleeping positions

Am I the only mama who hasn't given up her pillows from pregnancy? My back & hips get so sore sleeping on my side and side-lying nursing, that I'm still doing the whole pillow between the legs & behind the back thing. Is this just me? Any stretches that have helped? It's not the worst thing, just wondered if/when the habit/need will go away.

Even if exhausted with MOTN nursing, at least it's easier to get out of bed than in 3rd tri, right?

Re: Sleeping positions

  • So much easier. I don't have to roll out anymore...

As far as pillows go, the only pillow I used during pregnany was the one under my head. So no input here.

  • It took me the full six weeks to firm up my hip. You might want to try seeing a physiotherapist if your ligaments haven't tensed back up after six weeks. The first couple weeks it was like I was still pregnant and walking was still really painful.

  • Nope I'm still using them too. But I've been sleeping in the nursery in the extra bed so the pillow is extra awesome without DH to cuddle

  • I stopped using the pillow between the legs since I can lay on my stomach. I'm usually half o my stomach and half on my side with my top knee pulled up high. My back and hips feel great in that position

  • I used a body pillow before I got pregnant. Then I upgraded to the snoogle and am still using it :)

  • Sleeping on my tummy seems to help my lower back and hip pain

  • I am enjoying to sleep on my tummy again! DH just asked if we can toss ours... it got all lumpy and admittedly, kinda gross by the end, so I'm totally fine with it and will repurchase for the next pregnancy.  My hips were very achy from the first trimester and I used it all the way up to the end.  Since my c-section, I have felt 100% better though.  I say you can still use it as long as you want!
