Parental Reaction

Tomorrow is the big day!  We're telling my parents, sister, aunt, and grandmother that they will be a grandparent, aunt, great aunt, and great grandmother for the first time in their lives.  I am very very nervous.

What kind of reactions did you guys get when telling your loved ones about your first?

    We've gotten only overjoyed reactions from wifey's family.  I'm just concerned about how mine will react.  I've never had an extremely close relationship with them, and they always question the things that I do (no faith in my abilities as a grown man).

    Everyone on both sides really reacted well to the news when we told them... all 3 times.  We have very supportive families and the first, which we lost, and 5 months later with our second pregnancy, were going to be the 1st grandchild on both sides.  As of right now, our 2 boys are the only grand kids on both sides.

    Both sides of our families handled it well.  We told her extended family about being pregnant with a shirt.  Some of her family didn't full read it and thought it was a cute shirt until the light went on.  We were not married at the time but had been together for about 8 years.

    Both of our immediate families were initially happy then supportive when we lost what was going to be our second LO.

    Everyone was very happy for us. Especially my mom. My half-brother has 3 kids but she doesn't have any bio-grand kids yet. My wife's mother is already a grand mother a few times over, so she was happy, but just another one... I don't think my dad got off of eBay when I told him lol.
