Any tips? I am not handy and have been putting off assembling our conversion kit so Ds has a full sized bed on a frame in is room and the toddler bed still but I want to finally make the whole bed and get rid of the toddler one...is it not as bad as I am anticipating?
Eta I just opened the conversion kit to view the instructions and can't find any, unless they're all wrapped up in the parts somewhere? Ugh.
SO in case anyone has not done this before and wants to hear about it, it took pretty much a good part of our day, we discovered half the screws slightly rusted even though they were in a plastic ziploc WITH a silica packet...??? (so I will be ordering replacement parts to switch them out in the near future, they're not unsafe or anything but over time probably would cause problems if we had to move & disassemble the bed), the screw holds for the mattress support slats did not line up with any of the holes in the boards so we had to re-drill the pilots for all the slats... lots & lots of fun and we get to do it all over again for DD's bed in the near future...
And on top of it, the boxspring & mattress we had for DS were wayyyyyy too deep & the bed is quite high so we have to go out & either get a really thin boxspring to use with existing mattress or get one of those mattress/boxspring combo jobbies (or- verdict is to get a bunky board). Good thing we have a guest room that we hadn't gotten a bed for yet I guess, since we will now have one...
