My son's name is Gavyn...pronounced as Gavin, just spelled differently. I love it bc its not a super commom name, plus the spelling makes it a little more unique.
I have a 4.5 year old Gavin William. I really like Adam too! You won't go wrong.

Carson Henry, born 39w, 2d, via emergency c/s due to no fetal movement and fetal distress. Seizures, IVH grade 2, brain injury, kidney and liver damage. Complete blood clot in the artery in his right arm. 27 days in the NICU. Now discharged from all specialists, excepts his kidney doctor, who will monitor him indefinitely. My tough little cookie.
Gavin is popular right now, Adam isn't a trendy name. It comes down to your personal preference.
My DS is Matthew. It's a classic name, so I thought we might come across it more. We've only met one other child named Matthew (in a swim class) and there aren't any other Matthews in his entire kindergarten (three classes of 25 kids each). So you never know.
Here's the link to the social security list of names. Adam was 80 something in 2012 and Gavin was in the 40's, so both are in the 100 and are fairly popular. James is very popular middle name. I think both names are nice, I prefer Adam James. Either way they are both pretty popular names, which is perfectly fine.
Adam and Gavin are both really nice names. Of course, I am partial because DS is Gavin Nicholas. I loved it when my husband suggested it as his top choice baby name and I still love it! I don't know any other Gavins personally but I do hear the name sometimes.

I am lurking... I also have a Gavin michael. (Michael is dh's uncle who passed away name) my Gavin was born 6 weeks ago. It is making it's way to be popular. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes it into the top 20 this year.
Re: Do you have an Adam or Gavin?
Gavin is not my style.
