Hi Ladies (Intro)

I've been on The Nest/Bump for a while. Lately I've been mostly on the PAIF and Oct 13 boards.

I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and had a csection last week. I gave birth to a beautiful girl at 32w3d. She was 3lbs14oz 17 inches. She is currently in the NICU, but is doing really well. The week before I had been in the hospital 24 hours and was given steroids for her lung growth. They truly have made the difference. She is currently breathing on her own, off IVs and had her first bottle this morning!

I am always happiest when I'm spending time with her, but going home and leaving there is always so hard. Yesterday I had the honor of riding in the elevator with a family going home with their brand new baby. I know one day that'll be us.

The nurses are great and on a couple occasions they have given us a blanket she's used, which has her smell on it.

I honestly haven't really lurked here yet, but wanted to say hello.

Congrats! I'm also on the Oct 13 board. I delivered DS on Aug 23 at 32w 5d due to pre eclampsia also. Glad to hear everything is going great for you. Hope your NICU stay is short an sweet!

Welcome and congratulations!! This board is really fabulous so if you have questions or need to vent it's really a judgement free zone. Leaving the hospital was the worst part of every day. We had to walk by the maternity wing when we came and went and it was really hard. I wish someone thought of that when they planned the hospital... Or there was another exit.

Congratulations, mommy! I remember those walks home and crying on the subway almost daily. It was the hardest part. But she'll be home soon. And that pain eases away. Until then, this board is great! I found it sooo helpful.

I remember seeing couples going home with their babies and getting so upset!! Congrats on the birth of your daughter! My daughter was born May 17 at 31 weeks 3 days due to high BP as well and she was a similar size, 3 lbs 11 oz. I wish you a short and uneventful NICU stay!
