Rash from Pampers Diapers

I thought I read about someone else having trouble as well with pampers diapers.

DD has used pampers swaddled since birth, until two weeks ago when she started to get a rash from the diapers. I just started a new pack and I was only 2 diapers in when I noticed she was a little red so I put on some of her normal diaper cream. When I took off her 3rd diaper it looked worse and by the 4th one it looked awful! I had a couple diapers from an old pack so I put those one her and after two of those diapers it was completely gone (the second was over night).

At first I had a bit of a hard time believing that it could be the diapers since she wore the same brand since birth. I tried them a couple of days later just two see and again within the first diaper she was starting to break out. I used Earths Best for a little over a week and then tried a pampers diaper from a brand new pack (I have a pretty large stock pile of packages of pampers) again rash with the very first diaper!

I called pampers... The lady just kept repeating there are no chemicals in their diapers... I find that hard to believe that their are no chemicals used in the production of their diapers, but I also presume that the chemicals that they do use are safe.

Anyways please share if you or you know of someone who has had a similar problem.

Re: Rash from Pampers Diapers

  • We had a problem with pampers starting at about 6 weeks. Our little one got a rash so bad that it was open and bleeding, like a blister. I did some research and even though Snoops says this is BS, pampers still paid a bunch of cash to parents who complained about rashes that look like chemical burns (like our baby). Literally, the day we switched to Huggies the rash cleared up. I'm not saying our answer is everyone's answer but that was our experience. Good luck!

  • Both my kids get a bleeding rash from wearing Pampers. Found that our in the hospital... They only used pampers. Its weird because Huggies are fine and the disposable G inserts are fine. That said, a LOT of people use Pampers just fine.
