Back from Vacay!

We did our first big (10 days) vacation with LO this past week and we just got home today.  It was definitely challenging, but worth it.  LO got to see his family on my DH's side and this time, he didn't cry when any of them held him (unlike at my SIL's wedding in June).  He did really well overall, with the exception of a meltdown in the car yesterday as he started cutting his first tooth! 

A couple of takeaways:

• Proper planning prevents poor performance (aka we needed to plan ahead instead of spontaneously deciding to take the coastal route home, making a normally 12-hour trip into a 16-hour trip split up over two days).
• You can never be too prepared...I packed LO's long-sleeved onesies even though we spent the majority of the time at the coast, and he wore them almost exclusively because it was so chilly.  Also, the infant Tylenol I packed in case of unforeseen illness saved us on the teething, which I totally did not expect.
• Yes, long trips are definitely doable...but not recommended more than occasionally and they should have a darn good reason.  I am so excited to be back home for our regularly scheduled programming.
• Flexibility, flexibility, flexibility!

I missed our board while we were away...I didn't get very good data access and our "free wifi" was total crap.  Hope all of you ladies and babies are doing well!
