Ellie Grace was born at 8:58 on Friday, August 30 via C-Section.  She weighed 7lbs, 13oz and is 20 inches long! She's PERFECT!
I had an OB appointment, a NST, and an Ultrasound scheduled for Friday afternoon. I had planned on having my midwife strip my membranes, and was pretty sure that we'd end up scheduling my induction date at the appointment.  When she did my check, I had only progressed by about half a centimeter in 4 days, and her head was still pretty high, so we both knew that the stripping of the membranes most likely wouldn't work.  They had a hard time finding her heartbeat, just because of her positioning, but we finally found it and all was good, and we moved on to the NST.
During the NST, she didn't move as much as they would have liked.  They tried the buzzer to get her to wake up, and that didn't work, and then they tried to give me some cold apple juice to get her to wake up, and that didn't really work.  She finally woke up a little bit, after about 40 minutes on the machine, and my midwife was okay with that, so on we moved to the Ultrasound.
During the Ultrasound, they said everything looked great except for the fluid levels.  The ultrasound tech said that they normally start to get worried when it's around an 8, and mine were less than 3.  The tech went and got my midwife, and she came in and talked with me. That's when she told me that the ultrasound was measuring the baby at 10lbs 13oz!  We talked it over, and decided that due to the potential size of the baby, the low fluid levels, and the placement of her head (she wasn't anywhere near being down in the birth canal), that we would go ahead and schedule a C-Section for that evening.  I was upset that I wouldn't get to have the natural, vaginal birth that I had planned.  My midwife said that we could have tried to induce and hope for a vaginal delivery, but due to her potential size, and where she was at, we'd probably end up having a C-Section anyway.  I decided that they were right, I was ready for my baby, and so off we went to Labor and Delivery.
The C-Section went great, and when it was all said and done, I ended up with a baby that wasn't even 8lbs. I'm a little upset (as is my midwife) that the Ultrasound tech somehow measured her 3lbs heavier than she actually was.  Because she was smaller, I probably would have been able to eventually had an induced, vaginal birth.
Both me and baby and daddy are doing great, baby is latching awesome and she is absolutely perfect!
