So I might have put this up on the name board or this March board about a month ago I can't remember, but never really received any feedback, so sorry if you have read this before....
Anyway I have always loved the name Asher if LO is a boy. Dilema is that my step SIL ( DH's step sister) just had a baby boy and named him Ashton. She had no clue I was even trying to get pregnant and therefore had no idea I loved this name. I REALLY love this name, and was heartbroken when I found out what she named her little boy. Would it be weird if I stuck with it? DH's dad would have two grandsons with the nn Ash, but on the other hand I still have a whole other side of my family and DH's moms side that do not know my SIL's son at all. The boys would be together quite a bit at holidays and such, but is it really that big a deal? Anyone else expierence this?

They're similar, but not the same name. I say go for it.
