Baby Luv arrived at 11:55am via c section on August 30. She was 3.10 ounces and 15 inches long, and screamed bloody murder for being evicted.
As you know Monday we found out that LO was in the 7th percentile and that my placenta was starting to go. Tuesday I had a big gush of fluid and blood which L&D thought was urine or water from the systoscopy. Then Thursday the same gush happened again and a clot came out so went to OB and got sent to L&D. I waited forever to be seen because it was so busy and then they decided to admit me because the fern test was negative but they didn't know why all the fluid and blood was coming from. My OB wanted to deliver me right then but the a holes from the hospital wouldn't allow her to until they got a positive test or the baby was in severe distress. LO scored a 6 on the BPP.
I got admitted and situated in my room and was just falling asleep when the nasty MFM doctor from the hospital came and told me he spoke to my MFM and now they wanted to deliver me because my MFM was sure I had a continuous abruption. Well I had just had dinner at 10pm so they said they were going to wait 6 hours but that I had to go back to Land D. I showered, packed up and we went only to be told that the NICu was full and unless they had to do an emerg section on me I needed to wait until 10am. I got no sleep the whole night and was mrs. grumpy pants in the morning.
Finally at 11am they took me in. They insisted that the senior resident could do my spinal even though I only wanted the attending. Well I was right because she killed me and was never able to do it, so then the attending did it immed and I was layed down. Everything went really well and LO came screaming out at 11:55 and my mom got to cut the umbilical cord. There was a large blood clot behind my placenta and my placenta was small but very thick. LO went to the NICU with my mom and I got sewn up. I was then taken to recovery and had to stay for 6 hours because my legs never woke back up. My right leg is still numb so they are sending someone to look at it later.
Lo is doing well, she doesn't have a name yet. she is on room air but in the isolette and has an IV for blood sugar and soon will have a feeding tube because she doesn't drink enough formula. I have been pumping but nothing happens. I am in love with her she is so cute and my family is fighting over her already.
