Questions/help/support regarding Harry and 1D

I'm new to 1D, and I feel a little silly because I'm a 32 year old mother, but I thought maybe I could come here and get some information.... I have some questions that need to be answered, so can someone please help at your convenience?

I keep seeing "ship" all over the place and I don't understand what it means. I'm not even sure I can give context. Like, "Do you ship so and so?"

Larry? I get the idea, but is it really real? Everyone keeps talking about all their moments, but anything I've seen recently, it's like they don't even look at each other, sit near each other, etc. It makes me sad to think that because of all the speculation they can't be friendly (or lovers if they wanted). Is all the romance/bromance stuff being made up by fans/media? Are they keeping some distance because they have been told to, or feel like they have to? It seems to me that Harry tends to look at everyone he looks at with a huge amount of interest and intensity--like he really intends to pay attention and listen to anyone with whom he is interacting. Am I wrong in this? I feel like I can imagine that he is in love with any single person he looks at it, so why Louis specifically?

Also, I am seriously considering going to the movie on Monday morning by myself. Is this ok? I feel embarrassed about it.

Are there any specific recommendations on places to get my Harry fix or additional information that I need to know? I'm having trouble processing my feelings.

"Ship" is a fandom term that is short for relationship. If you "ship" a couple, it means you support their romantic relationship. I don't know how the term originated--I first saw it back when I was a big fan of Lost and there was always tension between Jack/Kate shippers and Kate/Sawyer shippers. People put a lot of stock into their chosen ships.

So there are many perceived ships within 1D (Ziam, Niam, Ziall, etc) but Larry is the one that has the most passionate believers. Some people think it's just a bromance and some people think it's a romance, or that maybe it was a romance at one time but it's not anymore, or that they're still very much together and planning to come out when their contract with Modest ends. But no one can really deny that there's something there.

The evidence is pretty compelling IMO. There are a ton of videos, photos, tweets, etc from 2010-early 2012 that support it, not to mention their matching tattoos. There's also evidence that Modest has gone to great lengths to quash the rumors, including enforcing a photo ban on pics of Harry and Lou spending time together alone. They also don't give interviews together anymore unless all of the other boys are present, and rarely stand near each other for photo ops--at least they didn't until recently, as in the last week or so.

I've been in a Larry spiral for a few weeks now and I go back and forth on what I believe. At a bare minimum I believe that they used to fool around. I also think that Harry was probably in love with Louis at one point. I think the whole situation is pretty tragic for them. I would die of happiness if they came out in a public relationship.

First, thank you all for this information.

Second, I am so conflicted about this information. The teenage girl in me wants to hope it isn't true as if Harry would somehow find me and love me. But the grown up, happily married mother in me just feels so sad that something so sweet is getting squashed, if it true. These seem like so much more than normal friend type interactions. Unless they are working really hard to play it up as some kind of joke or tease--but the examples you've shown me just don't seem that way and it seems like it would be annoying to stay so consistent with it if it was some sort of joke. And the additional fact that they seem to be staying away from each other in more recent things I've seen also point to the fact that it isn't just playing around/that it is actively being avoided. I thought maybe it was some sort of we're-more-comfortable-with-our-sexuality-because-we're-European type of thing, but this seems beyond that.

I don't know. I'm so confused.

I must really love Harry because all I want is for him to be happy, even if it isn't going to be with me.

I feel like I haven't done anything in the last two days other than get lost in this larry and harry spiral I'm in. Is it a bad sign when my toddler grabs my phone and says "done"? Ha.
