I am trying to stay away from stringing them to ribbon or something. I saw double sided adhesive tape and was wondering if anyone used it, and if it was strong enough? Thanks!

  • I'm not hanging any letters per say, BUT everything I hang in my new house I've been using those 3M Command strips.  Love them!

  • thanks @brandontricia! these letters are similar and lightweight so that'll probably work out well.

  • I'm so happy you asked this! I've been wanting to use nails but DH is stuck on using something similar to the 3M strips... Sounds like either will work well for our letters too!

Ditto! On the strips I did use these to hang letters worked great!
  • We put up a floating shelf and just placed the letters on top of that.

  • We used the command Velcro picture hanging strips. That way we could reposition if needed.

Bought picture frames from goodwill and spray painted them. Used scrapbook paper as the background and hot glued letters to it! :)

that's such a cute idea! it looks great and I love your wall

I would prefer to stay away from putting a million holes in the wall but also I guess we're not sure what kind of nails to use? Long ones that go through the letter?

  • Don't the letters have holes on the back or you could put picture hanger hooks on it?  That's what I've done, but I also don't like how they aren't completely flush against the wall.

  • Use nails and learn how to use spackle.
  • If you use the Velcro strips, use the brand name and not generic. The generic are awful and do not work!
