I just got my first betas back from the doctor, and my hcg was at 171 on Tuesday (roughly 4 weeks 6 days) and my progesterone was at an 8. Being that they look for 10 and above, I'm being put on supplements for the duration of the first trimester. I didn't get to see my doctor, but the nurse didn't seem too concerned. I am going in about a week earlier for my first ultrasound. Anyway, the logical side of me knows that everything will likely be okay, but my PGAL brain is going a mile a minute. And it doesn't help that it's a holiday weekend and I won't get the results of my second beta draw until Tuesday. Boohiss. Anyone have any pretty stories? Taking progesterone?
I suck at adding pictures, so imagine a delicious hamburger right here for your trouble in reading that.
I have had 2 miscarriages recently. My second pregnant around 4 weeks my hcg was in the 200's and my progesterone was a 12. The dr gave me the progesterone pill. But I ended up miscarrying around 5 weeks. I believe because of my hcg levels being so low and dropping. I am currently pregnant and my new dr prescribed the progesterone cream. He said it works much better than the pill, and it's better to put on in the morning that way you will be active and it will absorb better Good luck with everything!
I was to to use the Prometrium 200mg capsules vaginally 3x a day through 13-14 weeks.... I've never had progesterone over 2.9 with any of my previous pregnancies (all losses), but this one we adjusted from twice to 3x a day the day of my first beta draw...
They are super gross, and make your lady parts all greasy. They also make it smell like Crisco, so all in all they're LOVELY. I just hope they work for both of us!

I was put on progesterone after I ovulated because I had low progesterone my last pregnancy that ended in a m/c. Best of luck to all of us and H&H 9 months.
I had 9 months without conceiving and a seriously short (8 day) leuteal phase. My RE put me on 200 mg vaginal suppositories of progesterone 2x per day and I got pregnant right away and betas are doubling every 24 hours (I've had 3 betas now)! What weirded me out was that they do not want to test my progesterone levels. They just said since you are on progesterone supplements, then no need. They want me on them through week 10. How do doctors know that week 10 is enough, especially without testing? Also, are other ladies on progesterone planning to taper off (slowly reduce dose) rather than quit cold turkey? I've read many taper off but my doc said no need...

Kateitho--did your OB test you while you were on 2x per day progesterone? Did they measure your progesterone and see it was low, and then say you we're still deficient and that's why you had to do 3x per day? I am on 2x a day and wondering--is it enough?

Mine said the same, that since I'm on the supplements they won't be testing progesterone any more, which I understand I suppose. As far as tapering, all that my nurse said that once I'm out of my first trimester I can stop taking them, no need to ease my way off. Best of luck to you!

Thankfully no suppositories, but that does sound absolutely charming
