What is more accurate?

By my LMP I am 7 weeks this week, but my blood work showed that I was 7 weeks last week by my HCG count. So I am confused as to what our baby is really at developing-wise! Any advice?

Re: What is more accurate?

  • The most accurate would be an ultrasound. My HCG levels always run high.

  • You won't know for sure until you have an ultrasound. There is a very large range for hcg levels.

  • Do not base it on HCG levels as they care vary widely person to person. U/s is most accurate and LMP if you did not have a dating u/s

  • It's always including the two weeks before you actually conceive.

  • Month 1 of pregnancy includes 2 weeks of you actually on your period, then ovulating. It isn't even possible to find out your pregnant until 3.5 - 4 weeks.

  • Thanks everyone! This my first pregnancy and I am clueless, my OBGYN doesn't want an ultrasound until 9/16, so time will truly tell!
  • You can't accurately date a pg based on hcg. Most accurate would be confirmed O date and or u/s.
