WFD - Labor Day edition

OK, lay-deez.  It's Friday and the time is right: what's for dinner?  Special bonus question: what are you and LO eating on Labor Day?  Going to a fun BBQ?  Eschewing Jell-O shots at your sister's wedding?  Continuing in the search for all the pumpkin things?  Share share share.  Gonna be a loooong weekend.

    I went a little nuts at the farmer's market this morning so now we basically have to eat a vegetarian dinner or what the f*ck am I going to do with all this red leaf lettuce and radicchio and heirloom tomatoes and four ears of corn.  Ending with strawberry ice cream, FTW.

    Because next week is Rosh Hashanah and I made DH take off the last few days of the week so we could go visit our families (I'm so awful, I know, UGH FAMILY WORST), he's working on Labor Day.  I plan to eat pricey Mexican food from the place across the street from my apartment and lament that I'll probably be the only Bumpie without a BBQ to go to.  Sadface.

    ETA: I caught @Soozerella's engrish disorder, apparently.

    I doubt I'll be BBQing either. We just don't have a ton if friends in the area. Who knows though, may end up doing something anyway or BBQing in our own. For me probably a spinach asiago sausage though, my FAVORITE.

    For tonight, probably something easy, feels like the week was long as we're both readjusting to school schedules. Maybe a frozen pizza, have a spinach feta and bacon one...yuuuuuum!!!

    The thought of anything savory makes me want to vomit right now. Eating Reeses Puffs cereal while the family eats hamburgers, mashed potatoes, and brocolli

    @northport6, my DH has to work on Monday, too... So you won't be the only one. :)

    I just ate some vanilla ice cream, but DH wants Cajun chicken pasta, so he'll have that later.. And I'll probably have more ice cream.

    I don't know. DH hasn't left work yet and I have no idea when he will get home. I didn't plan on cooking so I have nothing ready to cook tonight. I'm thinking it will be a Chinese food night or the diner. But I have steaks marinating for tomorrow that I can't wait to eat.

     I think i'll do some veggie beef with pierogies and some sauteed zucchini. 

    I haven't really thought about labor day! Since we just moved, a lot of the people we used to know here are gone..so if we do anything it'll just be the three of us! I'll have to think of something special though

    Tonight leftover salmon is on the menu but I'm really hoping to talk DH into going to Alamo Drafthouse for dinner and a movie instead. We'll see how that goes.
    Labor Day we're having a pool party! Bar b que. I may run to Rudy's for some cream corn and potato salad though

    The best food ever to come out of a gas station.  And that creamed corn is amazing.

    My DH will be on a plane to Boston for work on labor day :( we don't have any plans for this weekend except he is golfing right now. Spaghetti for dinner tonight though!

    I'm not sure about BBQ either, after the summer of many BBQs I think we might pass. DH is actually off on Labor Day too so we might cook something interesting- like crab legs which I've been craving for weeks!

    We went out. I had delicious Cajun deviled eggs, flatbread with spinach, goat cheese & pralined bacon, and then black raspberry fro yo!!

    I was not healthy tonight! It was so worth it!!!
