This girl I know is pregnant with her second child and keeps writing "outrasound" on fb. Really?! No one has corrected that in her first nine months or the 8 or so months so far of this pregnancy?!
I've seen equally egregious spelling mistakes around these parts. But what I don't understand is-are people taking off auto spell correct on their phones and computers? It's 2013, nobody should be misspelling words! It makes no "since" hahahah jk jk
I got stuck behind two old ladies at Subway yesterday who had no idea how a Subway worked and kept getting offended that the girl behind the counter was asking them questions.
What do you mean what kind of bread?? Why would I want anything else on my sandwich??

I just had this happen recently too. Who knew Subway was so overwhelming?

For a lot of people, auto spell "correct" is the root cause of most errors - the technology just isn't smart enough. See also:

I am surrounded by it at work, in fact I almost throat punched someone in the lunch room who had the balls to comment on Large I am for only 12 weeks (mind you I have lost 9 pounds because I have been barfing since week 6)...I am sorry I am growing a human being differently than your 80 pound daughter who is a FTM. This is number 3 for me and I am hardly able to hide a baby belly beyond 8 weeks. Oh and please STFU when you comment on the fact that I am having a piece of pizza, and that I really should eat whole organic foods to ensure the healthiest baby possible, when all I have had to eat today is a fiber one bar and a yogurt because I have been tied to my desk in the midst of Month end HELL!
Gah, now I feel better, but I think I wore my bitch pants to Work!
I'm the one with the dumb! I booked a flight for my brother and accidentally picked the wrong return date. He gets an extra day for a visit but still - not like me. I can't keep track of social stuff, evening work functions, etc. I get dates so mixed up! I'm chalking it up to pregnancy brain. If anyone did have the dumb around me I'm not sure I would even know!

I can't spell, my grammar sucks auto correct can only do so much for ppl with my disability. No matter how hard I try to recheck everything I just can't see the mistakes it is not possible.

I totally understand and am sympathetic to people with disabilities, so please don't misunderstand my statement. This girl is just downright using the wrong word - and one that doesn't exist!!
It drives me nuts when people come here looking for advise. I want to advise them that the word is advice.
And I thought this one was pretty cute. I just sold my Impala, and MH and I were at the dealership looking at the new ones. He goes oh look, they still have the little deer emblem. I was like uh, the Impala? In a "you can't possibly be correct kind of voice" he says, so there's an animal actually named the Impala? He's normally very worldy smart so I cherish the times he has blonde moments.

Not pregnancy related but I recently told a customer at the bank their account was "in the negative $___" and the person said "what's 'in the negative' mean?" ....
I thought chipmunks were baby squirrels until I was 23... ">
Omg several years ago, my husband started to make a comment, stopped himself, then looked embarrassed. So I HAD to know what he was thinking. He was going to same something along the lines of goats being baby sheep. Sooooo funny, but these things happen.
A woman at my office has written in our file notes the following: "another words" instead of "in other words" she has used "aloud" instead of "allowed" and she apparently thinks "prepare" is actually spelled "pre-pair." We do not have spell check in our file notes system so I can't even use that as an excuse for her. Oh did I mention that I work at a law firm? You know, where people are supposedly college educated and should be at least somewhat intelligent.
During my first pregnancy, I thought that the fetus' umbilical cord was attached to my bellybutton. Until I actually thought about it and realized, duh, placenta. I'm pretty sure that when I was really small my mom told me that when I was in her belly, I was attached to her through my bellybutton and extrapolated incorrectly.
It's amazing the stupid things you believe in when you don't ever actually think of them.
This reminded me of one of my dumb moments... when my mom was pregnant with my brother (I was 8) we were in a crowded store and I loudly told her I hoped she had a miscarriage. I had heard the term somewhere and thought it just meant the baby got here early. I still feel awful about it, she must have been mortified.
My friend (in her 30s) recently sent me a text saying "I think I have an ear rake." She's a bad bad speller to begin with but I immediately called her to verify and she infact genuinely thought earache = ear rake.
My neighbor's daughter is a treasure trove of blonde moments.
1. She thought Jimi Hendrix was one of the Beatles.
2. She thought Washington D.C. was on the west coast, somewhere in California.
3. When people referred to Father Time, she thought they were talking about Santa Claus.
4. She thought that Democrats and Republicans were car companies.
5. She thought we needed to get on Rt. 95 North to get to New York City (we live in RI).
It would be more entertaining if it weren't also so sad.
I had a teammate in college who thought West Virginia wasn't a state but was like "Northern California". Le sigh, didn't help that she was a 6'3" blonde, bless her heart.

I'm fairly careful with spelling because I think it can colour opinions especially when we don't know each other outside of a text format. That being said I have been autocorrected myself. I also mistyped on a specific occasion resulting in me calling my friend a 'party anal'. It was supposed to say animal, however the backspace and the m are side by each. Lol. I still get teased with that.
I'm 36; DS 14; DS 12; DD 9; SD 15; SD 9 and DH 37 BFP July 10, 2013 and EDD march 18, 2014. Left ovarian cyst and right unicornuate uterus (will likely be treated high risk again)
