Looking for a fun meet-up spot

Friends from out of town are coming in and staying with family in Pinckney.  We live in Macomb.  We really don't want either one of us to have to drive all the way out to the other person, so we are looking for something fun to do half way (which from a map appears to be around the Farmington Hills area).  They have twin 5 year old boys, and a 1 year old boy, and we have a 1 year old DS as well. Neither of the 1 year olds can walk alone yet, so we were hoping to find a park or something--kind of like Stony Creek--where the kids could crawl around on the beach or grassy areas but the older boys would be entertained too.

Any ideas?

Lakeshore park in Novi ($5 fee) has a beach and two play scapes as well as lots of open areas to run around. Across Walled Lake is a free public beach w/ playground and across the street from a frozen yogurt place. Should it rain, Jungle Java (several locations) may be an option.
