@melody921 Your post about biting the other day scared the shit out of me. But sadly, I think my kid will be the biter and not the one being bitten. She's such a brute, and because I SAH, I don't think she's very well socialized.
I would ask if you can come there with LO for an hour or so and be in the classroom with her before she starts. I did that with DD and it really eased my mind.

Aww, I hope she doesn't bite or get bitten. They get used to being around other kids pretty quickly. FWIW, DD didn't get bitten at all yesterday!
I would ask about if they are licensed and or accredited. I would also ask if they have any parent references. The references tend to be families who have been at the center for a while and can tell you what they like about the center.

How much outside time and what is their rule for weather (hot/cold max temps for playing outside).
When are they closed (holidays, teacher in service, fall/winter/spring/summer breaks?)
Min requirements for the teachers and assistance (education, training, employment history for childcare).
How long as the teacher been with the daycare/with that class. Director/Asst Director too.
How long has the daycare been open.
How do they handle potty training. (My daycare has an attached kid bathroom in all the classrooms starting in the toddler2 room - 18mo+)
Age group for all the classrooms. Do they age up based on milestones or age.
Make sure they show you all the rooms. If this is the right fit, H will be there for years and it sucks to change daycares. I would give weight to a daycare that has a really great preschool program so I wouldn't have to worry about getting into a good preschool in a year or two. My daycare starts their preschool program in the 2 year old class. Also, if you have a baby you will use their infant rooms.
