I am finding this stage of pregnancy to be frustrating! Vent...

I am 13w 3d today (yay second tri!), and I am frustrated. I have very few symptoms, which is good in a sense, but I also cannot feel baby move causing me to worry. It's like there is nothing going on. My boobs hurt in the afternoon/evening and that's about all the reassurance I have. My "blump" is changing shape and becoming more round and more towards the front of my stomach, not so spread out and fat looking, is it changing into an actual bump? Idk. I just feel like I had the first tri figured out and now everything is changing. I don't know if this is all coming out this morning because I slept terribly last night and am feeling emotional right now, but I just feel like the whole game has changed. Anyone else feeling like this?

  • 2nd tri is suppose to be great, all the symptoms stop from first tri and you get to feel like yourself again. I get that you are scared because you can't feel the baby move and loss of symptoms but everything should be fine. Most FTMs don't feel the baby move until 18+ weeks. You are suppose to relax and enjoy this next 13 weeks because 3rd tri is when you'll start to get uncomfortable.

I felt like this with my first child. Just take a deep breath and enjoy it. Hopefully you'll get better sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow feeling great and refreshed.

  • Thank you so much! I think I literally just needed someone to tell me it is going to be okay because and soon as I read your post I started bawling. This is all a little scary sometimes, especially as a FTM. I am so glad my husband already left for work, pretty sure I look like a blubbering fool right now.... Thanks again!
  • If it wasn't for my US pics I wouldn't even know I was pregnant! My symptoms stopped and the bump is def growing (accompanied by a bit of fat from eating like shit). Also, I have an anterior placenta which means its in the front if my uterus and the baby is behind it. Doc said I will most likely feel the baby at 2o weeks, not 16-18 like most. You'll prob feel your baby earlier than some so don't sweat it girl! As consider yourself lucky to be done symptoms - some ladies are still suffering, some will suffer throughout.

It's completely normal to feel that way and you are going to feel different every week almost. Also, I didn't feel DS move until around 22 weeks.

ETA: many people I knew felt their baby move all the time. I didn't feel DS that often. Mainly in the middle of the night and here and there sometimes and he's healthy and fine. So even once you feel the baby move it will change or have you worrying more!
  • What you're feeling is normal. I know it's hard but try to ignore it. It's normal to not feel the baby move until closer to 20 weeks. And those of us who are still sick and nauseated are super jealous of your no symptoms. :)

  • whenever a moment of panic hits I always tell myself my body knows how to be pregnant even if my mind doesnt, the baby's body / cells, etc. know how to develop without me knowing how... it helps(ed) me..
  • Unfortunately I have pregnancy symptoms (m/s, etc) but the first tri is just a tough period.  I just feel downright sick, not "pregnant," whatever being pregnant is supposed to "feel" like.  You just have to have faith that you're baby is doing good because there isn't much you can do about it.  Just be patient.

  • Are we supposed to feel the baby move at this stage? WHAT???? You're freaking me out . I don't feel a single thing.

No.  Your baby is only about an inch long at this point.  You most likely won't feel anything for a couple more months.  I didn't feel anything with DD 'til close to 20 weeks and didn't feel her move with any consistency for about two more weeks.

  • I'm feeling the same. Not as tired, not as hungry, boobs hurt only sometimes, bump fluctuates. I do go in every two weeks and check my baby with my Dr. and her doppler. Hearing the heartbeat until my 20 week ultrasound has really helped. They should do that for you! Give that a try. But until my Dr. appts I'm a wreak.
  • Feels like little bubbles moving or twitches. Maybe depends on how sensitive you are to this feeling. I think you can feel that baby kick at 24 weeks.
  • Yep, totally feeling the same. I feel great, like before pregnancy. I look at my US pictures daily. My SIL gave me some good advice. Focus your energy on exercising, eating right...doing what you can for baby. Also, look at cribs, get inspired with nursery ideas. :) My next appt is in two weeks and no US but we'll be able to hear the HB. I'm planning on recording it so that I can listen whenever I'm feeling worried.
