Not a preg topic but I need to vent...

So I went to a crab leg buffet tonight. I got there at 8:05 and it closed at 9. When I was shown to my table, I did not sit down, but rather went straight to the buffet. (It's worth noting that I was dining alone). So I got a plate of salad and a plate of crab legs on my first trip to the buffet. I went back to my table, started in on my salad and about 5 minutes later, a waiter finally stopped at my table and got my drink order. Ok, fine, I'm good. So I go about my crab legs and then head up for round two. I took my purse with me because obviously I'm not going to leave it alone at the table. I got a plate of side dishes, little of this, little of that and another plate of crab legs. So then I head back to my table and the damn waiter is almost done clearing my table. I'm like WHAAAA, I just got here?!?!?! (Not to mention the buffet was 29.99!!!). So I say to him (with two plates in hand)... "Uhhhh, I'm not done..." He says "Oh... Hurry please" and then proceeds to get me another tea and silverware. I almost fell over from disbelief... Did this guy seriously just think I paid 29.99 for one plate of crab legs and a salad??? Is this guy effing nuts?

    Face punches. I hate when people are rude like that- you are the customer! It's not like you showed up 5 min to close!

    I love crab legs. Ugh, wish that sounded good right now. I'd kill for a craving.

    I guess it's worth noting that the 29.99 is implied. I used comps for it so no cash outta pocket.

    As a prior server this is really not acceptable! If someone had come in right at 8:59 we would still have to serve them. I didn't work at a buffet restaurant though so maybe it's different but you would think they would have at least given you one last shot at the buffet until 9:00 before they shut it down.

    Also I don't agree with you @toothpastechica for asking for a certain % off. Yes speak to a manager and express how you were treated but I always found the politer you were to me the more I did for you and demanding something off typically never worked in their favor.

    What was funny about him clearing the table was that I had not even left a tip yet... It was like he was assuming I wasn't going to tip. Which I begrudgingly did later just to prove my point.

    I'm surprised he didn't even first look for you. Especially since I'm assuming you hadn't even paid the bill yet lol. Must be a lot of dine&dashes at that place if they just carry on clearing tables.

    Your right sometimes it can be true if you don't ask you don't get, but sometimes you get a lot more if you just express how you feel about your experience was and don't demand a certain discount. As @KimC85 said there are so many people out looking for a discount all the time.  The best one is the people that take their own hair and put in their food and then claim a hair is in their food.    
    As far as tipping in that situation I would have left a crappy one just because of the one comment.
