Okay I'm craving roasted red pepper hummus so bad right now and I get a 50/50 debate over everything I search on it.... Someone please tell me they ate it or do it eat during pregnancy??? Edit: spelling auto correct
I'm also addicted to RR pepper hummus! I don't know of any reason why you couldn't eat it, as long as you don't let it sit out long when bacteria grows.
Why would you not be able to eat hummus? It was one of my staples last pregnancy, and probably will be this time too. Go ahead and eat yourself some hummus, m'dear.
Anything that you buy in a grocery store in north America that is made with water or dairy or is processed in a plant COULD have bacteria in it. Unless you grow your own food (and don't eat anything packaged) , I think you just have decide what amount of risk you feel ok with, but unless you are willing to start growing your own everything, I wouldn't worry about hummus.
Moral of the story: anything can and will kill you Nourish yourself at your own risk, pregnant women of the world!!

If you're worried about hummus from the store (and I wouldn't be), you can always make your own. It's super-easy and a lot less expensive, and you can use way less oil than what's in the store kind. If you can't find tahini, you can use peanut butter instead.

I eat hummus weekly. I don't see anything objectionable about the ingredients.
I have never heard that, and I have held a job in the past as a prenatal nutritionist... so I hope that counts for something
