  Since you are calling him Max I would use maxwell as his first name.

  Name him what you're going to call him

  BFP #1 - Mango - 6/11/12, EDD 2/22/12 Natural MC 7/15/12

  BFP #2 - Nacho - 10/14/12, EDD 6/20/13, MMC 8 weeks, D&C 11/16/12

  All testing shows both H and I are perfectly normal. Baby Nacho had triploidy. 

  Back to normal business December 2012

  Maxwell John. Dh goes by his middle name (because that's what everyone called him his whole life growing up) and its kind of annoying with legal documents and at the dr and stuff.

  I like Max too. It's too confusing when people call their kid by the middle name.

  I think I like the sound of John Maxwell better actually... Sorry to go against popular opinion. But if you are usually going to introduce him as just his first name (Maxwell), then it does it really matter.
  
  We also call DS by his middle name and it's confusing to many people, so I can definitely understand wanting the name you'll actually use as the first name!

  Personally, I prefer John Maxwell because I think it flows better (not that my opinion matters). But if you're going to call him Max, then go for Maxwell John.

  Maxwell John. As a teacher, when kids go by their middle names, every year the kid will have to correct and explain the name he is called. Easier to just use the first name as the name you'll call him. Good name either way, though!
