I want a home ultrasound machine!

Is it just me? Or is waiting for the next appointment making you crazy too? I just want to know everything's ok in there as that our baby is growing healthy and strong. It's so scary to me just waiting to see the next heart beat. 2 weeks from tomorrow ugh!

Re: I want a home ultrasound machine!

  • It may not be an ultrasound machine but with my last pregnancy I bought a Baby Sound Fetal Doppler (around $25) and starting at about 10 weeks I could hear the baby's heartbeat whenever I wanted to.

  • Are the dopplers really accurate and are they safe to use a lot? I might rent one cause I'm also stressing out
  • you could always pull a cruise/holmes and buy an ultrasound machine for personal use ;)

...or maybe they're selling theirs on craigslist!

I ordered one today, went for something more high tech and more pricey. I figured may as well get the best one

    Which one did you get?
  • Keep in mind ladies that does home Dopplers can sometimes cause panic unnecessarily if you don't hear heartbeat. If you uterus is tilted (like mine) it can be difficult to find it!

  • My husband is a marine biologist and I have been begging him to bring home the ultrasound machine they use for sharks. He refuses because he is scared he won't be able to use it correctly on a human and then I'll freak out and cry, convinced something is wrong. He's right, but I still want to try! I can't wait any longer!!!
  • Me too, I'm trying not to be nervous but it's hard!!
  • Ugh I have an ultrasound machine at work that I wanted to use but I'm only 6 weeks 2 days. I haven't had any ultrasounds and I just want to know baby is alive in there!!!! Just ONE. I don't care about not seeing him/her again until 12 weeks I just need to make sure there's something in there!!!! Alive!!! I'm going nuts. My first appointment is on Tuesday but they aren't doing an ultrasound. I'm gonna beg him to listen on the Doppler otherwise I might just have to use that ultrasound machine myself!!!! At 7 weeks!!
