Good convertible car seat for travel?

Looking for recommendations for a light weight seat for use on an airplane & to be used RF in the car at our destination. Our current seat is a Britax Marathon, while it's not necessarily enormous, it's big enough that I don't care to try to lug it on a plane. Prefer to keep price around $100, as it will only be used occasionally. Oh, my DS is currently 19 months, about 25 pounds & I'm not sure of his current height off the top of my head, but he's consistently been about 55% for height. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Cosco Scenera. It's cheap, pretty lightweight as far as convertibles go and great for occasional use.

  • I second the Cosco Scenera.  It is cheapest from Walmart.com.
  • Thanks for the suggestion!

  • I had a Evenflo Titan with my older kids when they were younger.  I am a no to infant seats, but a yes to Evenflo car seats.  I love them.  They are fairly light weight and easier to install.
