Baby won't sleep :(

I think I have the world's worst sleeper.  She wakes up every 2 hours at night and does not nap during the day no matter what.  I have black out curtains, music, I rock her and breast feed her and nothing.  I work part time from home and I am about to loose my job because I get nothing done.  She has to be held all the time or cries.  I don't know what to do anymore.  My husband and I fighting due to lack sleep and never get to spend time together because she takes 2 hours to get put to sleep and I end up falling to sleep with her. I am about to loose my mind.  Anyone else's LO this bad or does my baby have something wrong with her?

  • Can you wear her in a wrap during the day? DS isn't a great sleeper. He'll only nap for 30-45min at a time unless he's on me. Would it be possible to hire a sitter or have a family member come spend time with her for a few hours during the day so you can work? As for night time, do you swaddle? While DS hates the swaddling process it definitely helps him sleep longer. Does she use a pacifier? That has been a lifesaver for us b/c DS LOVES to suck and constant nursing sessions weren't working. Good luck, I hope it passes soon! I know it's tough, I just keep telling myself that it's not forever and someday I'll miss him being so little

  • any idea how much she is getting during breastfeeding? We had the same problem where LO was waking up every 2 hrs. i finally one night thought i would bottle feed her and give her 3oz (she is 9 weeks now but this was 2-3 weeks ago) and she gave us a longer sleep stretch. i would have never thought that she wasnt getting enough off the boob but i did this for a few nights and she continued to sleep longer and not wake up every 2 hrs. Also, bathing can helps soothe them to sleep. And swaddling is helpful too. We swaddle with arms out and she loves it.

Good luck. hopefully you can find a solution
