We just started ds and dd at a large center that we love in June. Ds's teachers were amazing and he loved them too. This was a big deal since he was in a home daycare prior to this (it was dd's first daycare experience though). Anyhow, last week they switched to their fall rooms and they both got new teachers. I like them all, but LOVE ds's last teachers and he clearly misses them : ( Today at drop-off the baby sobbed pretty hard, tears and all, and ds kept saying 'I don't like Ms. New Teacher's name, I like Ms. Old Teacher's name'. Needless to say, drop off today sucked. When will these center transitions get easier? It seems like it's hard on little guys to have to change providers so frequently.
Re: Switching rooms at centers
DS1 (3.5) just transferred rooms. After the first day he said I like Ms Old Teacher, but she teaches babies and I am a big boy. Lol. One day and he thinks he is a big shot. Anyway, maybe talk to him about being with the big kids vs the "babies"?
It does get easier!
