Trouble TTC

Is 10dpiui too soon to POAS??

Because I really want to pee on something tomorrow.  This feels like the longest 2WW ever (probably because if it's a bfn, we're on to IVF...).

Re: Is 10dpiui too soon to POAS??

  • I'm not much of a tester, but I would say that if you want to, go for it! Just keep in mind that it may be too early. Good luck!

  • I triggered, but I don't know what you mean by "test out my trigger."  I didn't do any home OPK or anything, just took my trigger shot and had my IUI approx. 34 hours later.  So I don't know *exactly* how many days post ovulation I am, but I know that as of today I am 9dpiui.

Thanks ksgsmu for the percentage chart - basically I'm reading this to mean that if I have enough patience (and willpower!) to wait until Friday, it would be about 50% accurate.  Or, I could always just POAS every day and keep my FX!

  • thanks for the advice ladies!  my RE doesn't do betas for IUIs unless you have a BFP, so I'm on my own in figuring out when to POAS.  I usually stop the progesterone 2 weeks after the IUI if I'm BFN still (since it takes 3-5 days after I stop progesterone for my period to start, I usually POAS every other day after 14dpiui just to be sure...).  I just don't seem to have any patience this cycle!

  • since I triggered late Saturday night/early Sunday morning (2am), I'll be 11 days post trigger tomorrow.  I think I'll risk it and pee on something

  • What is it about POAS that is so addictive?! I told myself I would never take another home test (only at a lab when I'm 2 weeks late) but I'm absolutely DYING to test this weekend. Even tho the last, oh, 20 have been BFN lol. Luckily I don't have any in the house and don't feel like going to buy one. I also have no clue if I'm a 21 or 28 day cycle this time around.

Anyway, I digress. Good luck either way!!! :)

  • well, it was BFN this morning.  I'm going to look at it as good news that my trigger is definitely out of my system, and keep my FXed that it will look different when I try again on Sunday!  4 days can make a huge difference, right?!

  • yes sarah! a huge difference... now that you know your trigger is gone... any faint pos line.. is a GOOD one... :). The 2ww is the worst for me regarding IF... I torture myself with every different scenario... It makes me crazy...
I have promised myself... I will never home test again.... my last cycle i did... got a positive.. was very excited.. and two days later I realized it was my trigger still... :( the roller coaster sucked...  I want to just put it out of my mind for 2w.. and then find out... vs.. everyday it consuming me...
    :)

    footnote:
this is a pipe dream... lmfaooooo- and have no idea if I can do it... heheheheh
